On this day, our world lost one more special son, father, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, grandson, and friend to many.
Jeremy is survived by his mother, Anita Rose, grandmother, Judy Durham/Couch, grandfather of marriage Herbert Couch, brothers, Jacob Evans, Jeffrey Driskell, his wife, Taralyn, and their children, Joshua Evans, his wife, Bella Lovato, and their son, Izaiah, Joshua‘s daughters, Annie, and Alia, and their parents, Megan, and Brandon Evans. A sister from a ladder marriage of his father’s, Alesha Durham and her children, Aunt Tammy Niehaus, her Son, Grandson and family, longtime family friend/Auntie Lisa Gregory and her family, the Parkers. Last but not least Jeremy’s longtime girlfriend and mother of his children, Amanda Dawn McFarland & her son, Vinny, Jeremy & Amanda’s children, Bryson, Brooklyn, Abigail, and Jax of Goshen, Ohio. There are multiple other family members on both the Durham and Rose family trees that make the list too long to announce but they are loved and was by Jeremy.
Jeremy was an amazing person with a humble and very well liked by all, personality. That Smile was contagious! He was a very caring and giving person so much so that he would literally give you the shirt off his back. He never minded helping anyone and if you asked he would drop everything and be right there. He was intelligent and skilled at many things mostly carpentry and painting being what he most enjoyed. He expressed great gratitude with those who gave him the knowledge and training. Jeremy was a hard worker and could work circles around the best. He didn’t waste time and he didn’t stop until it was done. He was also a perfectionist with his work. He took pride in what he did and was eager for the reward of seeing the outcome. A simple lifestyle was what Jeremy preferred. His idea of a good life was his work, a business he put together, being with his family just playing together in the house on board games, or his favorite thing was a backyard bonfire, a cold beer, good (mostly country) music with Chris Stapleton being one of his recent favs. Fishing, anytime anywhere! He also liked long walks, or hikes especially in the Ohio trees which had the biggest grip on his heart.
As a child Jeremy was nearly a straight A student throughout schooling, popular amongst his peers and his favorite sport was basketball. He graduated from Cass High School with honors. Should have seen that big grin when he walked up and received his diploma!
As an adult while enduring a long road of adversities, Jeremy was persevering in strides in his recent efforts along with the longtime aid of his family members. He expressed many times his gratitude and sorrow from his brothers and mother who’d dropped everything at moment notices at any cost to rescue him, as well as his grandparents, and his girlfriend who’ve all maintained persistence in love & hope for his recovery. All this in return gave him hope and the peace of being loved. These were his words. He was very close to winning his battles with a set goal of returning to Ohio by Christmas 2023 at the latest. Through it all he maintained his morals and love for his family.
May Jeremy rest in peace and love, in God’s arms until we meet again.
Memorial dates and times will be determined and announced at a later date through his family.
A prayer vigil is set for Sunday, August 6, 2023, 9pm at the corner of Baseline & 24th street Phoenix, AZ 85042 for all who want to attend and honor Jeremy and support his family. (Bring a candle)
