He was born February 8, 1945 in Louisiana and graduated high school in 1962. At the age of 17 he enlisted into the United States Navy.
Bonnie and Jerry were actively involved in church, in fact every summer they traveled to Ohio, found a church with a Pastor named Andy that befriended them, and spent many hours praying and talking on the phone.
His hobbies also included cars. Jerry loved to fix his cars rather than buying anything new. In fact, he loved cars so much, if someone could tell Jerry what their car was doing, or what it sounded like, he could tell them exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He once told someone who was experiencing plumbing issues, ‘Tell me what the problem is and I can tell you how to fix it, and then you won’t need a plumber.’
Later on in life Bonnie and Jerry would search for, and buy old RV campgrounds, renovate them, and later sell them until his health prevented him from doing so, and subsequently retiring.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Fisher; daughters, Lacey Hicks, Lori Fisher; grandson, Shane Fisher Sr. and great-grandson Shane Fisher Jr.; granddaughter, Kayla Radmacher; great-grandson, George Hicks and great-granddaughters, Aubrey, Emily and Kendall.
The family would like to thank Pastor Andy for his caring compassion and kindness, as well as Connie Jo for kind words, prayers and late nights on the phone. When Jerry couldn’t sleep, she would pray for as many hours as needed.
