Jessie Bertram

Jessie G. Bertram born August 14, 1931 in Globe, AZ passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of July 25, 2014 after a long battle with dementia. Jessie moved her family to Phoenix, AZ in 1968 and is survived by her 8 children Gilbert, Robert, James, John, Patrick (Norma) and Dawn Stewart, David (Michele) and Christopher (Lisa) Chesson, 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, brother Benny Gonzales, sister's Ursula Johnson and Esperanza (Arthuro) Canizales, uncle Raymond (Josie) Ramos, aunt Isabel Hansen and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Julia Gonzales, brother Phillip Cortez and her husband and the love of her life James D. Stewart. Rosary and visitation will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 7 PM at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ. Mass will be on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 3220 W. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ, interment to follow. Jessie's children would like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Valley for helping us to take care of our mother in her home and fulfill her wishes and for helping us to understand dementia.
