

Joan Francis Myatt Knapp, Osage, a devoted wife, mother, loving grandmother, and respected physical therapist, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on March 7, 1934, Joan lived a life dedicated to serving others, guided by her deep Catholic faith and pride in her Osage heritage. She was a woman of strength, grace, and compassion, whose life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to her family and her community.
Joan spent most of her career at St. Joseph hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Beyond her clinical work, Joan contributed to the advancement of her field through thoughtful writing and professional engagement, including a published review in Physical Therapy journal. Her compassion and knowledge impacted countless patients and colleagues.
Joan believed in the power of healing, not only through her career as a physical therapist but also in the love and support she provided to everyone she encountered. Her faith, kindness, and service will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her and memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Knapp; her mother, Ethel Goad Myatt, Osage Allottee; her father, James S. Myatt; her brother, James S. Myatt; and her sister, Anna M. Myatt Cullen-Carroll. She is survived by her three devoted children, Donna Knapp, Debbie Knapp, and Diane Knapp, as well as her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, Patrick Cullen-Carroll, Sean Cullen- her nephews, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
