John Joseph Burke

John Joseph Burke of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on Tuesday May 24, 2022. John was born on August 17, 1932 and raised in Litchfield, Connecticut. He disliked winters and winter driving so much that, after three accidents in two weeks, he decided to move his family to Phoenix, Arizona in the fall of 1969. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Geraldine, and his sons Thomas, John Jr, Kevin and Darren. John has eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, veteran of the Korean War and an avid fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He is sorely missed but we take comfort in knowing that he is pain free and in the presence of our Lord and Savior. We also know that the grief of parting will be replaced, in time, by the joy of reunion.

A celebration of life for John will be held Monday, June 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Rd., Phoenix, Arizona 85022. Following the celebration of life will be a committal service with military honors at 12:30 PM at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85024.
