

Age 77, John Birdno Haldiman, passed away on 8/16/24. Survived by his wife of 47 years, Joan Haldiman; children Heather, Zachary, his wife Amanda, Jacob his wife Stefanie, David his wife Kelsey. His grandchildren Josh, Brandon, Jacob, McKenzie, Nickolas, Aidan, Adalynn, Johnny, Straton, Percy and Sawyer. John is predeceased by his oldest son Matthew. John was a husband, dad, rancher, farmer, cowboy, construction worker, businessman, mechanic, and man of great discipline and resolve. He was born in San Francisco but lived in Arizona for his entire life. After graduating West High School, John worked in construction until age 24, John and Joan homesteaded Haldiman Ranch, a remote property in the Tonto National Forest, for the next 5 years where they raised Heather and Matthew. When Heather was 5 years old, they moved back to Phoenix so Heather could attend school. In 1985, John and Joan purchased 13 acres in South Phoenix were John built our home and they raised us.
In 1976, John started his own construction business, Haldiman Construction, which revolved around residential and commercial construction. John did work all over the Arizona with the most notable projects, the renovation of the Bishop of AZ house and the Inter-Tribal Counsel of Arizona.
John was a great storyteller and had the ability to have the room laughing on a moment’s notice. His best stories were the adventurous ones that had him as the main character. He was the only man I knew who caught a bank robber on his lunch break! Among loving being active whether it be on growing his business or his ranch, he always made time for his family. He was actively involved with his son’s Boy Scout Troops and attended all sporting event for his kids and grandkids. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.
A memorial will be held at Trinity Cathedral, 100 W. Roosevelt St, 85003 on 11/02/2024 @ 10am
