John Anthony Trujillo went to rest with our Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2015. He was born on April 17th, 1954 to Cipriano and Jessie Trujillo. He was born and raised in Phoenix, the only son in a family with three daughters: Gloria Lucero, Lucy Romo, and Susan Teskey. He attended St. Mary’s High School and graduated in 1972. Shortly after, he joined the United States Navy and was stationed in San Diego, CA. It was there he met, fell in love with and married the love of his life, Penny Bauer. Together, they moved back to the Valley of the Sun, bought a house, and raised four beautiful children. He worked for the City of Phoenix in the parks and recreation department and for the Phoenix Fire Dept for 20+ years. He was a respectable, hardworking man who took no greater pride than taking care of and providing for his family, but he knew how to really love and live life to the fullest. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying fishing, hunting, and
camping. On a relaxing weekend you could find him wetting a fishing line with his sons, taking his wife yard sale-ing and to the movies, grilling dinner on Sundays for his family after church, and spending time with his one and only loving granddaughter, Lillian. Together Lily and her Tata spent time together fishing, going out for ice cream, watching cartoons, and feeding the birds and ducks at Encanto park. He was a kind, gentle man but one of the strongest you will ever meet. He was full of compassion and an overwhelming love for his family, friends, and even perfect strangers. He had a belief in God, and dedication in his faith that is as solid as they come. He touched the lives of everyone he knew. He was truly a remarkable man: a dedicated son, a wonderful brother, a great uncle, an amazing friend, devoted husband, and the most loving father ever. He was our rock, our strength and the leader of our family. He was one in a million. He is
survived by his mother Jessie, his wife Penny, his son John Henry, his son Chris and daughter in law Ashley, his daughter Rachel, and his daughter Rebecca with his granddaughter Lillian.. He will always be missed and never be forgotten.
