

Josephine ”Josie” Morales Manzanares Alvarez, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on December 17, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born in Dallas, Texas, to Andreas and Justa Morales Manzanares.
Josie was a gifted homemaker and an incredible cook, known for preparing delicious meals like homemade tortillas, enchiladas, tamales, rice and beans that brought joy to all who sat at her table. She used her hands to create beautiful things: sewing, making blankets with hand drawn needlepoint designs, creating cards, and gardening. Her passion for music was reflected in her beautiful guitar playing, singing, and dancing, which filled her home with love, laughter and joy throughout her life.
Josie was a devoted prayer warrior whose life reflected deep faith, and unwavering devotion to God. She faithfully served her church community for many years, volunteering wherever there was a need. Her servant’s heart, gentle spirit, and commitment to prayer touched countless lives and will be remembered always.
Rupert and Josie were blessed with seven children: Christine Price, Jaqueline Alvarez, Carolyn Edwards, Deborah Alvarez, Rupert Alvarez, Ray Alvarez, and Kimberley Dennis. Josie was preceded in death by her husband Rupert and her beautiful daughter Kimberly. Josie is survived by 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
