Joyce Arvilla Borello was born in Lexington, Oklahoma on September 2,1925 and passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 13, 2026. Her life journey was filled with many various experiences, traveling, and family/friend connections. She proudly talked about her age of 100 years and 4 months and for her surprise 100th birthday party, received over 150 birthday greeting cards. When her earthly journey was done, she quietly and quickly drifted away to be with her Lord in heaven.
Joyce’s family moved to San Benito, Texas in 1930 where she graduated from high school in 1945. She worked at the Harlingen Air Base Commissary until it closed, then for the San Benito water system. She expanded her technical skills as a Laboratory Assistant for the Cameron County Health Department from 1947 through 1952. Joyce then focused on family life and returned to work in the same lab from 1972 until she retired in 1990.
In 1950, she reconnected with and married a childhood acquaintance, Joseph A. Borello. Following her husband’s death, she moved to Arizona in 1999, where her daughters reside.
She is survived by Martha (daughter) and John Milner, Nancy (daughter) and John Stubblefield; grandchildren Kevin Foutz, Liz Mendle (Joe), and Chris Milner (Cathrine); 6 grandchildren, Aiden, Tatum, John, Dawson, Jack, and Tenley; 20 nieces and nephews and their families.
