Jack—my husband—and I built our homes right next to Kathy and Matt 28 years ago. Side by side. And we’ve been in each other’s lives ever since. We’ve traveled together… all over Mexico, on a couple of cruises, across the U.S., and to places I can’t even count.
We had a favorite saying between us:

Kathy was happiest with a baby or a dog in her lap.
And if she didn’t have either, you’d find her in the garden.
Planting something, pruning something, trimming something. That was her joy.

She loved being in the water. So many of our trips were by the ocean or on a ship—anywhere she could feel the sun and the waves.
And lucky me… if I ever needed anything, I didn’t have to go very far.
Just next door.
That could mean a cup of sugar, a little bit of vanilla, or a big ol’ hug when life was hard. Whatever it was, she was there.
And we were there for her too.
I’ll miss her deeply.
I’ll miss peeking out my door and seeing her standing on the other side.
I don’t know how you say goodbye to someone who feels like they’ve been in your whole life.
Because Kathy wasn’t just in my life—she was woven into it.
Into the everyday. The big trips. The small laughs. The garden clippings. The hugs.
All of it.
I don’t have the right words to end this.
So maybe I won’t try to end it at all.
I’ll just say—Kathy, I love you.
And I’ll be looking for you…
in the garden,
in the waves,
and in the quiet space just outside my door.

Sending hugs to our family!!! Aunt Kathy was and will always be the forever love for Uncle Matt! Such a special bond between them. 💕Her kids and Grand kids were the love of her life! Always enjoyed our Phoenix visits, lounging in their incredible pool🏝️👙☀️, fun shopping adventures, and the best hostess❤️! Just remembered lounging  chairs  by the pool and telling Uncle Matt to krank up the country music🎶, and he doted on us with special drinks🍹 - our pool boy! 🕺When my kids were young we enjoyed night time scorpion🦂 hunting with the black light! Another fun memory, was when Morgan and I flew in with Sage for our German Shorthaired Pointer Phoenix Dog Show, and how much fun Lucky and Sage had running and swimming! So many special memories. Wishing I had visited more and more time with our special Kathy! I know we will see each other in heaven!  We love you!🥰
