Kelly Frances Mabe

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and sister, Kelly Frances Mabe, who left us on December 29, 2024. Born in Phoenix on March 13, 1959, Kelly was the daughter of James William Paty and Mary Frances Paty. Kelly grew up in South Phoenix, later moving to Central Phoenix and graduating from West High School in 1977.

Kelly's greatest joy in life was her family. Kelly was so proud of her kids and even more proud of her two granddaughters. In retirement, she found great joy in sharing hobbies with her granddaughter Grace. She traveled to Minnesota often to spend time with Ashleigh, Paige, and Sula and was the best “Mimi” Sula could ask for. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, especially in her role as a nurse. Kelly worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including doctor's offices, emergency rooms, and schools, where she touched countless lives with her expertise, kindness, and unwavering care.

In addition to her career in nursing, Kelly had a passion for cooking and was known for preparing delicious meals that brought family together. She also loved tending to her garden, finding peace in the soil and joy in watching her plants grow. Kelly always had a dog or two and her animals were well loved and cared for.

Kelly was predeceased by her parents, James William Paty and Mary Frances Paty (Doss), and sister, Kendell Paty. Kelly is survived by her husband, Cary; her children, Brent (Erin) and Ashleigh (Paige); her granddaughters, Grace and Sula; her siblings, Jim Paty and Kim Walker (Bob); and many other family and friends who will miss her dearly.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Kelly's life on January 18th, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Serenity Chapel at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary & Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley in her memory.

Kelly's spirit will live on through the love she shared, the laughter she inspired, and the countless lives she touched.
