Kim is preceded in death by her father Lawrence Belson.
Kim is survived and missed by her loving husband of 15 years Jefferson, her daughters Morgan and Elry, her mother Margaret, her sisters Katherine and Laura, her nephews James and Orion, her mother-in-law Sheryl, her father-in-law Jefferson Sr. and his wife Sandra, her brother-in-law Benjamin, her sister-in-law Kristen, as well as the many lives she touched in her career working for the YF Group at the Rancho Sierra and La Estancia apartment complexes.
Kim took great pride in her ability to fix problems, regardless of the scale. She began working for the YF Group in 2010 at the Rancho Sierra apartment location, where she lived at the time. She moved into her house in 2013, and continued to work at Rancho Sierra until 2018 where she got the opportunity to become an assistant manager at the La Estancia complex. Kim took a distinct confidence in her accomplishments at La Estancia before returning to Rancho Sierra, the property that she felt was her home away from home as an assistant manager to her long-time mentor and close friend Deb. She would continue working at Rancho Sierra until her passing, leaving a community that was closely endeared to her as she had known residents and co-workers for so many years. Even in her passing, Kim was able to donate tissue to help those that she could.
Kim had a passion for the creepy and spooky, and built a substantial library of horror classics from author Stephen King and the like. She was a pajamaphile, fabric crafter, knitter, cross-stitcher, and puzzle solver. She loved trivia, Nancy Drew games, and anything that could scare her. Above all else, her pride was in her family, especially her two daughters. She would take the most joy in all of their accomplishments in life even beyond her own. To her husband Jefferson, she was the bright flame of his life, her energy and passion bringing a smile to him every day. She met her husband on January 27, 2006. They were married on June 10, 2010. In the 7,142 days they knew each other, not a day went by where they did not speak to each other. Even when they fought, their priority was to each other and would tell each other they loved each other.
Her family and friends know that Kim will be looking over us all with the love, energy, and compassion that she held for us throughout her entire life. As our own skies are clouded in her absence in this world, her warmth can be felt in the sunshine on our faces until we meet again.
A Memorial Celebration will be held at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary, located at 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, Arizona, 85027. The service is scheduled for October 11, 2025, starting at 2:00 pm.
