

On August 23, 2023, Lawrence “Larry” Francis Goforth of Phoenix, Arizona passed away peacefully at the age of 87. He is survived by two of his daughters Lori, and Lisa, four grandchildren Ashleigh, Justin, Rheanna, and Jessica, and ten great grandchildren. He is predeceased in death by his youngest daughter Lois.
Lawrence Francis Goforth “Larry” was born April 23, 1936, to Frank and Hilda Goforth of Columbia Illinois. In 1955 Larry joined the United States military serving in the Korean war with the Navy from 1955-1962. He was a quarter master third class. Following his service with the military he joined the Phoenix Fire Department in 1961. Larry spent twenty years with the fire department retiring in 1982 as an engineer. Larry was blessed in this life with three daughters Lori, Lisa and Lois, four grandchildren Ashleigh, Justin, Rheanna, and Jessica as well as ten great grandchildren.
Larry was a man of faith; he was a very devoted catholic. Some of his hobbies were hunting, jewelry making, camping, and riding Harleys. Larry was the President of the local Lions club as well as President of the Wind and Fire motorcycle club. He was always actively involved in his community and involved with charitable causes. He was a master of proverbial phrases, he would let you know that people that live in glass houses sink ships, and that a rolling stone is worth two in the bush. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
