Lynn Loucks was born Margaret Lynn McGee on July 8, 1940, in Amarillo, Texas, to Eakle Lyndon McGee and Margaret Hazel Rogers McGee. In 1947, the McGee family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Lynn attended Phoenix Christian High School, which her father had helped build. She then attended Biola University in Los Angeles. Lynn worked for Motorola, Sperry Flight Systems, Honeywell Aerospace, and the State of Arizona’s Department of Economic Security before retiring.
Lynn enjoyed rockhounding, hiking through the forest with her friend Bea, and caring for the many cats and dogs she loved throughout her life. She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in the late 1990s and admired the courage and perseverance of Michael J. Fox and Muhammad Ali in their own battles with the disease. Lynn received a deep brain stimulator implant, which allowed her a degree of relief from the effects of Parkinson’s for many years.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Eakle and Margaret McGee; her nieces, Carolynn Ruth Reece and Robin Christine Hausfeld; and her brother-in-law, Fred Furubotten. She is survived by her sons, Donovan and Patrick Loucks; their spouses/partners, Pamela Loucks and Karen Armstrong; her sisters, Beverly Crouch, June Furubotten McMahon, and Jeanine Reece; her brothers-in-laws, Jim McMahon and Norman Reece; Seven nieces, a nephew, and a grandson.
