

Lynn P. Saunders, 91, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2020 at Acacia Health Care Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Born March 5, 1929 to John M. Pack and Mabel Simmons Pack in Fayetteville, TN, she was a graduate of Fayetteville Central High School, and attended Middle Tennessee State College. Lynn married Burt Carnahan in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 1948. For his work with Wilson & Co. Meat Packing, they lived in Murfreesboro; Wichita, Kansas; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Memphis, Tennessee; Park Forest, Illinois; Albert Lea, Minnesota; and Omaha, Nebraska. She then retired to Sedona, Arizona for 19 years and finally to Phoenix.
Lynn was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was a tournament bridge player and enjoyed golf, traveling, knitting, and reading. While in Arizona, she became very knowledgeable about Native American culture and history and became an avid collector of local art and jewelry.
She was predeceased by her parents and husbands Wiley Burton Carnahan, Jr; Robert M. Brown; and Charles “Chuck” Sanders, son-in-law Bill Oglesby, sisters DeAubrey Davis and Virginia Thompson. She is survived by her son John Carnahan (Leslie Yoder), St. Paul, Minnesota, and her daughter Sally Oglesby, Crossville, Tennessee, grandchildren Jennifer Lanier (Tim), Alisa Mueller (Brian), Chris Carnahan, Caitlin Carnahan (Patrick Wright), Curt Oglesby (Jessica) and 8 great-grandchildren.
A musical concert in her memory is being planned for September at Sagewood in Phoenix. At her request, her ashes will be spread in her beloved Sedona and also in Omaha and Tennessee. You may make memorial contributions in honor of Lynn to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or to the American Cancer Society.
