Margie N. Franks passed away at the age of 89, on Friday, December 23rd, 2016 after an extended illness. She went to be with her Lord in Heaven, and reunite with her Husband, Ken, and her son, Earl, along with her brother, Abe, and her sister, Helen. Margie was born in Carbon Hill, Alabama on March 20, 1927. She completed her education there, and was a high school cheerleader in her senior year. She married her husband, Ken, when she was 19. They lived in Carbon Hill, Alabama, and Fort Worth, Texas, prior to moving to Phoenix in 1955, due to her husband's health. She lived there until her death. Margie was a full-time house wife, an excellent cook, and had a beautiful voice. She was interested in so many things, and loved to tell you all about them. She was a Christian woman and a bible student. She totally immersed herself in all things Arizona, and truly loved where she lived. She wanted to help people who had less than she did, and regularly donated to the Phoenix Rescue Mission, and several other religious organizations. What Margie loved the most was being with, and helping out, her Grand-Children and Great Grand-Children. She was a devoted wife, mother, Grand-Mother, and Great-Grand-Mother. She was a strong woman in spirit and faith, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her Son, Terry Franks, her two daughters, Joy Larue, and Brenda Franks; 3 Grand-children: Shanna Franks, Tyler Franks, and Alexis Franks; and 5 Great-Grand-children. A Memorial service will be held at the Greenwood Memorial Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, January 21st, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with light refreshments afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that a donation be made to the Phoenix Rescue Mission in her honor.
Arrangements under the direction of Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, Phoenix, AZ.
