Marguerite Inez Vasey White

85, of Phoenix, AZ, died at home on October 1, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born to Rev. Clyde and Inez Vasey on October 22, 1925 in Deercreek, Oklahoma. After high school graduation she joined the Air Force where she met her husband, Donnie. They were married on February 5, 1954 in Rantoul, IL. They worked together in the finance section of Chanute Air Force Base. She was discharged in May 7, 1954 as Airman Second Class and continued to work in the field of accounting/bookkeeping which she thoroughly enjoyed. She is survived by her husband, Ret. Msgt. Donnie T. White, her two daughters, Nancy L. Soyka (Paul), Tamara J. White, her three grandchildren, Tiffany J. Mendez (Daniel), Karl H. Lipkeman, and Geraldine Mendez, her great granddaughter, Izabella Rose Mendez and a brother, Clyde R. Vasey II (Lois), as well as many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Shadow Mountain Mortuary from 6:00-8:00 pm, and the service will be held on Thursday at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3801 E. Greenway, Phoenix at 12:00 with a graveside service following at the Veteran’s cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting any donations to be made to the Hospice Valley of the Sun.
