Marion Ryan, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016. She was 89 years old. Marion was born in January 27, 1927 in Ellendale, North Dakota. She graduated from South Dakota State College, in Brookings in 1949 with a a degree in Pharmacy. She met her husband of 58 years, William Ryan, in pharmacy school, and they went on to own a pharmacy in Fairfax, Minnesota together. In 1964 they moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she worked in retail pharmacy until her retirement in 1986. Marion was known for her sharp wit, sense of humor, and love of animals. Her hobbies included quilting, jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles, dominoes, and bridge.
Marion is survived by her children, Julie and Don Sartain, Mary Ryan and Pat Blake, Jean and David McChesney, Michael Ryan and Terry Long, and William Ryan Jr; her grandchildren, Tessa and Jesse Wood, Laura McChesney, and Patrick McChesney; and great-grandchild Annecy Wood.
Memorial services will be held at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary 710 W. Bethany Home Road Phoenix, Arizona 85013 on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society. She is loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
