Quita or “Q” will be lovingly remembered by her brothers Richard and Craig Boynton and her sister Melissa Chartier, sisters-in-law Sheri and Pam Boynton and Marji Aung Khin as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Sybil Boynton.
Quita was a proud native of Phoenix and was a graduate of Camelback High School, she received her AA degree from Phoenix College and Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Arizona State University. She was a member of Kappa Delta Nu Sorority where she made life-long friends, enjoyed charity work and social activities. She spent many fun summers at the Episcopal Church Camp in Prescott and the Orme Ranch in Mayer, Arizona.
Quita was presented to society by her father as a St. Luke’s flower girl in 1966, was active in the Junior League of Phoenix and volunteered at the Phoenix Zoo, enhancing her love of all animals. She collected angels and stuffed teddy bears and treasured her family antiques.
Her professional life began in the banking industry at First Federal and Mera Bank where she was an AVP at both. Later she was a Compliance Officer for Bank of America. Continuing her career, she moved to the mortgage industry where she was a manager with several mortgage companies prior to retiring.
Quita had strong faith and a heart of gold. She was always willing to help friends and family out who knew that her self-proclaimed second language of sarcasm with a side of cynicism came from a place of love. She was proficient at knitting, needlepoint and crochet and was an avid reader - with books stacked high. Meeting for lunch at Phoenix’s iconic Duck and Decanter where her only order was an albacore tuna sandwich that was, in her words was “always worth the wait.” She thrived on long winded conversations with family and friends talking about any and everything.
The loss of our Sister and friend is immeasurably felt by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life for Quita will be held later this spring.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ALMoore-Grimshaw.com for the Boynton family.
