Mary "Dee" Delores (Farley) Comley

Mary Delores “Dee” Comley, 81 of Phoenix, AZ sadly passed to eternal life on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. She was born and raised in Estill County, KY on January 28, 1942, to James Elmo and Janey Marie (Yancey) Farley. She lived in Phoenix, AZ for the last 9 years with her husband, Jerry Horn. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Janey, her sister Alice Adell Farley, her son Roger David Puckett and her Aunt Julia York.

Dee was a woman of deep devotion to her family and church where played the piano and sang in the choir for many years. She loved to travel and go on cruises. She volunteered in her community and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. She started her professional life as an LPN working for the VA Medical Center and became an RN eventually earning her MSN in nursing from Arizona State. She was an inspiring Nursing Instructor for many Arizona nursing programs. She had a specialty in Infection Control and became well known in the Nursing Epidemiology field.

Dee will be greatly missed by the following survivors, her husband Jerry Horn of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters Penny Gilbert and Terry Tuznik of Phoenix, Arizona; and grandchildren Elizabeth and David Puckett, Katie and Ricky Tuznik, Sid Gilbert, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 25th at 11 AM at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E Greenway Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85022. Lunch will be served after the service at Shadow Mountain Mortuary.
