
Mary Sue Gernon Fulkerson died surrounded by loving family on April 10, 2025; she was 69 years old. She passed due to complications of cancer. Sue was born on February 2, 1956 in Houston, Texas to George Ernest Gernon and Billie Jean Larkin.
Sue was an artist who expressed herself in everything, from painting in various mediums to sculpting. One of her cherished accomplishments was a large mural at a local church.
Being around children was a great love for Sue. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years with a large and popular troop. One of her fondest scouting memories was a trip to the Juliette Gordon Low Museum in Georgia. Sue was also instrumental in creating the Daisy Scout program for Kindergarten aged girls; she was the first Daisy Troop leader.
She loved camping, fishing, and travel. A book could be written based on all of her adventures. She was an exceptional talent when it came to food. Cooking and baking were a way for her to share her love.
Sue was preceded in death by her father George Ernest, her mother Billie Jean, and her brothers Chester and William.
Sue is survived, and deeply missed, by her loving husband of 31 years, Jack. By her side were her husband Jack, her children Theresa and Sierra, and her sister Gloria. She died on her and Jack's 31st wedding anniversary. She is also survived by three sisters and a brother, as well as her children; Theresa, Rebecca, Michael, and Sierra.
She lived a full life, sometimes with pain, but more often with joy. She was always looking forward to more adventures.
