Mauricio, when we hung out you lit up the room with laughter.  Gone way too soon at such a young age. My condolences for your family and my prayers will have your name in it. May you rest in peace and may your memories live long in the minds of the  people you came across while sharing the sunlight rays and the moon lit nights on this earth. sleep soundly friend.

My deepest sympathy and condolences are with all of you that are missing him. He was an incredible amazing friend. I remember the times we would laugh until our insides would hurt all through the night! I’ll miss him truly, he was always fast with advice and quick to help in any situation. He loved his family so so much, and he always stayed positive about everything! This is such a tragic loss for anyone that knew him. We had talked that day and made plans to hangout the next because of my work schedule. I wish I could have had the chance to hang out with him just one more time. He was the greatest! He was so uplifting, positive, energetic personality I have ever had the pleasure in becoming a friend with.

My heart is broken. I just saw him last week and he was so full of life. It was one of my favorite Phoenix moments running into Mauricio here. I’ve known him from long ago in Houston and neither of us knew we had moved here. He was such a funny, loving, and amazing guy. To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. I pray you find peace and always remember how much he loved you. He was blessed to have a family like yours, so full of love and acceptance. 

Mauricio, I pray you are at peace and I will miss you more than you know. Love you.

Mauricio had a light about him that could brighten a room and make people smile without even trying. That’s the Mauricio I knew, and that’s the Mauricio so many of us will remember. Life is not easy for anyone; every single one of us has had moments where we fall, where we hit rock bottom, or where we do things out of character. That’s part of being human. But to use this space, his obituary, as a place to throw stones or bring up mistakes is not only disrespectful, it completely ignores who Mauricio truly was.

Mauricio was not defined by his struggles. He was defined by his heart. He cared deeply for others, sometimes even more than he cared for himself. He put people first, he was generous, and he was genuine. He wasn’t selfish, he wasn’t mean, and he wasn’t evil. He was a friend you could count on, a person who lifted others up, and someone who deserved patience, understanding, and love.

Everyone makes mistakes in life, but not everyone carries the kind of warmth and kindness that Mauricio did. That’s what should be remembered here, not judgment or negativity. Let this space be about honoring his memory, the joy he brought, and the moments he gave us that will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Mauricio. Thank you for your light, your laughter, and the memories that will live on in all of us.
