Nancy Margaret (Hendricks) passed away peacefully at age 84, surrounded by family, after several years of living with Alzheimer’s Disease. Her family is grateful for the wonderful life Nancy lived and that she is now in heaven.
Born in Logansport, Indiana, Nancy was the second of four children of Leo and Helen Hendricks. She was a happy, social child who enjoyed reading and spending summers in Culver, IN, where she loved swimming, waterskiing and sailing.
Nancy graduated from Logansport High School in 1959 and Ball State University in 1963. She began her teaching career in Anaheim, California, before joining the U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity. She taught children of American service members in Japan and Germany for 32 years.
While teaching in Germany, she met her husband, Hans Bogensberger. They were married in 1972 at the castle in Heidelberg, Germany, and later welcomed two sons.
Nancy and Hans traveled extensively throughout Europe, India, Africa and the Caribbean. In 2002, she and Hans retired to Cape Coral, Florida, and enjoyed an active community life. Nancy spent time in a New Residents Club, Red Hat Society, the German Club, and book clubs. Hans and Nancy moved to Arizona in 2017 to be closer to family.
Nancy is survived by her husband, two sons Erik (Anne) and Greg (Jodi), seven grandchildren, her siblings, Susan, Jimmy, and Lib, extended family and friends. She will be remembered for kind spirit, and dedication to family and education.
A committal service will be held at SCI Arizona Funeral Services, Inc., located at 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027, United States. The service is scheduled for November 25, 2025, at 10:00 am.
