Born in Harrison County, Missouri, Feb. 18, 1933, she was the daughter of Ralph Waldo Sobotka and Gladys Sobotka (Hamilton). Nina married Ray Morris, November 19, 1948, in Buffalo, Wyoming. She describes their wedding: “My mom and Ray’s dad went with us to the Sheridan County Courthouse to get our marriage license, but even so, they would not issue us a license! We were too young! I was fifteen and Ray was seventeen. So we went to Buffalo, lied about our ages, and were married…Ray worked for a geophysical Co. (oil exploration) so we moved a lot. We lived in Montana, Nebraska, Colorado, and Texas, before settling in Green River, Wyoming in 1959. Ray died January 3,1998, so that ended our marriage of 49 years, 2 weeks and 3 days.”
Nina was an Avon Lady for many years in Green River. In the late 1970’s she became a real estate agent and in 1981, received her brokers license. Nina was an agent/broker for Desert Realty over several years and was active in various civic organizations in and around Green River.

When her own health started to fail, she moved to an assisted living home in Peoria, AZ. Although she was apprehensive to move to the home, she quickly made friends and was active in the busy social life there, attending cooking classes, crafting, bible study and weekly concerts.
