Paul Harland Edgerly Jr., passed away at the age of 65, on September 30, 2022, in Phoenix, Arizona, following a year-long battle with brain cancer. He was born to Sherry Lee Covert (Edgerly) and Paul Harlan Edgerly on September 28, 1957, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. At the age of 17, Paul enlisted in the United States Marines, serving on active duty for 6 years. Later, he found a calling in law enforcement, retiring as a Sergeant with the Crook County Sheriff's Office, after more than 20 years of dedicated service. Paul had an amazing sense of humor and the ability to make everyone feel comfortable. He was artistic by nature and his early passion for building model airplanes (especially those from World War I) led him to the creation of his own business, Edgerly Scale Aviation, through which he sold planes he had built for displays, catalog work and to private investors. He earned Master Modeler certification and worked as a model painter on the Memphis Bell, which was featured in the television series, The Young Indiana Jones. Paul was a serious history enthusiast, particularly with regard to his own family history, and he loved archaeology. His goal in life was simply to be considered a good and decent man and his dream was to go to Egypt.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Carmin, her three children: Trevor, Alex and Maddie, his son, Paul, and his three children: Kylee, Hayden and Mason, and his fiancee, Cathy, as well as her sons: Christopher, Justin and Trey and their respective families.
Paul will be cremated, with a Celebration of Life Ceremony held at 10:00am, on October 12, 2022, at Phoenix Memorial Park, located at 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, Arizona. Condolences for the family may be offered at www.phoenixmemorialmortuary.com
