

90, of Phoenix, Arizona passed on to heaven Tuesday, July 15, 2014. He was born February 24, 1924 to Maria and Donicio Maciel. He grew up on Call Ranch, Corona, California. Paul served and protected our country during WWII with the US Army, retiring from the US Air Force after 20 years of service. He retired from Lockheed Martin after 18 years (as well). Paul married the love of his life, Juana “Jennie” Martinez in 1952. For Paul family was very important, he was a kind loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Paul was his grandkids #1 fan for all their sports and dance recitals. He was best known for his big smile, affectionately known by many as Mike, Paul, Coach, Uncle Paul, “Is that you George”, grandpa and tata. Paul is survived by his wife, his children; Paul Jr. (Patti), Michael R. (Cathy), Yolanda Luna, Charles Maciel and Carol Marroquin, his grandkids; Aaron, Alisha, Michael Mathew, Megan, Michelle, Eddie Paul, Jessica, Gabriella, Charles Paul, Elena, and Anthony, great grandchildren; Hannah, Dominik, David Michael, Aleena, Jordan, Isabella, Ryan, Alexis and Caroline, 2 brothers Johnny and Peter and an incredibly big loving family of over 500 nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Amado and 7 sisters, Eva Salgado, Vicentia Varela, Elizabeth Villa, Esperanza (Hope) Lomeli, Carmen Mendoza, Christina Rivera and Lina Rico. Open casket viewing/rosary will be held on Thursday, July 24th at St Vincent De Paul Parish 3140 N. 51st Ave. from 10-11am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial services will be Tuesday, July 29th at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. at 9am.
