As a child he loved the outdoors and was a lifelong fisherman
Graduated from Westville High School
Phil was married to Mary Jane Quale for seven years and had two children Wayne Lilley and Lisa Helmken
He has 5 grandchildren, Nicholas King, Stephanie King, Luke Helmken, Brandon Helmken, Katelin Helmken and 3 great-grandchildren; Kinleigh Langford, Audrey King and Adalyn Helmken.
Phil was married to Laura Mary Mitchell for 34 years
Laura had two daughters, Gloria and Barbara who he treated as his own with an extended family of 8 grandchildren; Michelle Sparks, Michael Sparks, Marie Ritchey, Robert Stockton, Christopher Stockton, Mark Stockton, Matthew Radlauer, Richard Radlauer & 14 great-grandchildren.
Phil worked his adult life in finance and information technology for the Associates, EduServe, ITT, and Wells Fargo
He taught himself computer programing beginning in 1968 and went on to building his own computers
He embraced the future, reading science fiction and about science
He had an optimistic personality, with a great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh
He was a loving father and devote Christian
Phillip will be dearly missed by all
