It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Phoenix Beals O’Hagan on December 20, 2021, at the young age of 24. He was born August 11, 1997 in Phoenix, Arizona. Phoenix is preceded in death by his grandfather Clarence Sr., Grandmother Enriqueta and Great Grandmother Antonia. Phoenix is succeeded in death by his mother & father Paula & John, partner Jordyn, brothers Jesse & Johnny, aunts, uncles, and cousins along with various friends who consider him as family.
From a young age, Phoenix expressed his creativity with lego creations and Bionicle toy sets. Through the lens of his eyes, the possibilities were endless. He soon developed a knack for clay, sketching, and chalk art. As Phoenix grew older he progressed in his High School years joining various extracurricular groups including Chess, DECA, and Track & Field. This allowed Phoenix to travel to multiple states for competitions achieving awards at state and national level. His love for chess extended beyond high school with a growing collection of chess sets.
Phoenix had a love for movies and T.V. entertainment. Had time permitted, he likely would have become a movie critic with a rating system all his own. A few of his favorites are The Pianist, Pick of Destiny, or any Superhero Movie. When Phoenix was not rating movies he was actively on the hunt to buy, sell or trade pins. Over the years he has obtained an impressive collection of highly sought after pieces including his favorite, Into The Void by Austen Zaleski. In his recent days, he had taken a liking to woodworking. Phoenix had numerous projects that he was actively working on ranging from pens, photo frames and tobacco pipes. He had accumulated a wide range of tools and machinery for his new found passion in carpentry. Phoenix also enjoyed rock climbing, ping-pong and hosting Anime Tuesday with his closest family and friends.
Another passion of Phoenix was his love of dad jokes. A first encounter with him often began with one or two as an icebreaker. In his eyes there were no bad jokes even if he was the only one laughing. Dad jokes aside, Phoenix lived life contently greeting everyone with a smile. He was a kind, compassionate and considerate young man who always thought of others and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He lived life to the fullest having spent the last 8 years with his high school sweetheart, Jordyn and fur babies Tiger, Jolly and Charlie. Phoenix was fortunate to work amongst loving and caring coworkers, including his mother-in-law Dawn, at Sunset Wholesale West as an accounting assistant. Here, he was able to grow personally and professionally over the past five years.
Phoenix’s life achievements will forever be treasured. His parents are beyond proud of the man he came to be in his brief but fulfilling lifetime. His irreplaceable character will live on through the memory in those privileged to have known him.
