88, passed away on December 15, 2015. Born in Mullen, Nebraska and left home in her early twenties after attending Nebraska Wesleyan University. Making a few stops on her way settled in Phx meeting her future father-in-law at APS (known then as Central AZ Light & Power) she married Lee A. “Bud” Homrighausen at the downtown First Baptist Church. Trading in her city shoes for life on the dairy farm brought over night change. Newly immersed, she became involved with 4-H children and kept detailed records on prize heifers shown at the state fairgrounds. Joining Bud and her sister-in-law, Neva Bell (Ralph), they became a great team involved with UDA and the Holstein Friesian Assoc hosting many pit barbeques and corn boils with local farmers. Retirement years in Show Low connected her with women cancer patients before and after surgeries being a three time survivor, a Member of the White Mountain United Methodist Church, ladies golf groups and a comradery of many friends. Her dry wiry wit, her smile and her faithful love for her family and friends will be a constant reminder of what a wonderful woman she was. We are so grateful to Sunrise of Chandler staff whom loved and cared for her like family. She is preceded in death by her husband Bud of 60 years and two sisters Gracie Boyer and Gettie Sandall. Phyllis is survived by daughter, Karen Swanson (Roger); son, Michael; grandchildren, Megan, Ryan and Destiny and one great grandchild, Maliah; two sisters Wilma Hotz and Doris Stauffer and brother, Richard Boyer (Mary). A memorial service will be held on January 23, 2016 at 11:00am at Desert Foothills United Methodist Church, 2156 E. Liberty Lane, Phoenix, AZ 85048. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to the church.
