Maria Priscilla Julia Campos “Priscilla Ashton” was born July 17, 1939 in Puerto de Luna, New Mexico to Albertina and Antonio Campos. She was the eldest of twelve children. In her youth, the family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona where she graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1957. She married William T. Kassemos and went on to be a U.S. military spouse, living as far as Guam and California.
Her treasures in this life were her children and abundant grandchildren, and most importantly her relationship with Jesus Christ. Priscilla loved Jesus with her whole heart and soul, and her greatest desire was to become a saint. She, in the middle of her life, entrusted everything to God. She divorced and with little college education or finances, by God’s grace, earned an associate degree in counseling through Ottawa University. She worked as the Director of a women’s shelter while raising five children as a single mother. She later went on to work as a college counselor for over a decade at Gateway Community College.
Priscilla met the love of her life, Rob Roy Ashton, to whom she remained married to for over 30 years, living joyfully together. They set a beautiful example of love for others. Priscilla was filled with the Holy Spirit, and had a deep love and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She used her gifts and was a prominent leader in the Charismatic Catholic prayer movement. She was deeply committed to the Unbound Deliverance and inner healing ministries, and helped countless souls to heal and find intimacy with God the Father. As for the miracles in her life, she gave all the credit to God, often saying, "Jesus pulled our family out of the muck and mire". Her effectiveness in her gifts of healing came from having the courage to be willing to go through deep healing within herself, and the humility she had in sharing her life experiences with others. This was done with great gratitude with the gifts that the Holy Spirit lovingly bestowed upon her. She is a true light of how Jesus can repair and transform lives. She loved to travel, especially to sites of Marian apparitions. She was blessed to travel to the Holy Land, Mexico, Rome, Spain, numerous times to Medjugorje, and most recently to Fatima and Lourdes.
Priscilla is greatly loved and will be deeply missed. She died peacefully surrounded by her family on February 8, 2025. She is preceded in death by her first husband William T. Kassemos, her husband Rob Roy Ashton, her eldest daughter Lydia Barisic and survived by her children Michael Kassemos, Tina Barry, Athena Jensen, and Adrienne Bowers, numerous siblings, 17 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
We love you so much Mom! Her last words days before she passed into eternity were, “I MADE IT, IT’S PERFECT!”
