Quon On Chin, 83 of Phoenix, Arizona passed away July 29, 2012. He was born on October 4, 1928 in Canton, China. He served in the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant, and was a Chief Chemist for the City of Phoenix Water Department until he retired. Quon was preceded in death by parents Tai Soon Chin and Sun Yat Hoy. He is survived by wife, Sue May Chin, daughters Lori Steuber (Paul) and Karen Cheah (Bob), sons Glenn (Laura), and Tom; and grandchildren Nelson, Sophia, Kevin, Brenda, Brian and Katrina; and sisters Lillian Eng (Frank) and Lai Fong Lui (Bob). A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd. in Phoenix. Interment at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery will be private. Quon was happiest tending his birds, fish and turtles. He was a great storyteller and was proud to have taught his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews how to swim and fish. Quon was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and our lives will not be the same without him. He will be missed.
