Shortly after midnight on February 25th. 2026, Ray succumbed to his injuries as a result of an accident on his scooter and went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Raymond was a veteran of both the U.S. Army, and Army National Guard. When he was 19 years old, he, entered into the U.S. Military serving his country for 5 years. While deployed to Indonesia/China to fight the Vietnam War where he was shot at and injured, he earned a Vietnam Service Medal and a Purple Heart for his bravery.
A quirky, and at times stubborn man he could be, always needing to be the one in charge of his sister's birthday party, or Thanksgiving would be celebrated. Then, ridiculously enough, he would not show up to his own planned events! Yes, he just had to let the ladies know that "He was in charge." What seemed like a weekly, if not almost, nightly basis, there were calls and phone messages from Ray during baseball season. You just knew when a Dbacks game was on when the phone would ring and it was Ray. He would always fanatically announce, "THE BALL GAMES ON SIS! THE BALL GAMES ON TONIGHT!" Ray loved the Diamondbacks, fishing, and getting outside for rides on his new scooter. Although he couldn't drive too well, as evidenced by the numerous holes in his apartment's walls, he still managed to at least get his scooter OUT the door. After going for a ride, he could always trust his buddy and personal assistant Stuart to get it safely back in the apartment. Stuart ALWAYS looked after Ray, keeping him safe, his house clean, and getting him around town wherever he needed to go. He was said to be a joy, and a gentleman to the nurses who cared for him during his last days, but Raymonds injuries were just too much for his body to overcome.
In death Raymond chose the gift of life by registering with Donor Network of Arizona to be an organ donor.
Ray is survived by his sister Leonora Elizabeth Bisbey and predeceased by his father, John Wyatt Bisbey, and his mother, Helen Girault.
An chapel service will be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn where he will be inurned with Military Honors once we determine a date. Any donations in memory of Raymond are graciously appreciated and encouraged to be made to North Phoenix Church at Nphx.org and or Disabled American Veterans at (DAV.org).
