Raymond Dean Schlink, 93 of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on February 20, 2013 in the presence of his beloved family. He was born on July 25, 1919, in Phoenix Arizona in a house at 3rd Ave & Northern. He was the last surviving child of the 7 children born to Arthur E. and Gertrude Dosien Schlink. Raymond attended Madison #1 grade school and Phoenix Union High School where he was an ace pitcher for the Coyotes. For 46 ½ years he drove rigs for Wells Freight Line which later became Milne Truck Lines. He was a proud member of the teamsters and drove 4 million accident free miles. He and his wife, E. Hortense Schlink raised their four sons in Scottsdale, Arizona. In 1985 he moved to Arkansas where he continued his hobby of collecting antique toys and actually fashioning his own collection of toy cars and trucks. He loved baseball, hunting and camping and anything that included his family and it was because of his love for his family that he returned to Arizona in 2011. He was predeceased by his mother, father, sisters, brothers and son, Jimmy. He is survived by his sons, Cliff (Carrie), John (Wanda) both of Phoenix, AZ; Dennis (Wendy) of Seaside, OR; Lloyd of Hermiston, OR; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren (and one on the way) and many nieces, nephews and friends. We will always remember his sharp wit, entertaining stories, his beautiful smile and the deep love he had for each one of us. A celebration of Raymond's life will be held on Sunday, February 24th at 2:00 PM at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85013.
