Reginald Daniel a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024 surrounded by his beloved family. His passing marks the end of a life richly loved and fully lived.
The following poem was written for Reginald A. Daniel by his grandson, Darius Crutcher, Baby D, titled "Grandpa" and will be on all the pamphlets for all to take a copy home.
Grandpa, you were kind and always so true,
Though my calls from afar were often too few.
With each visit made, I prayed you’d know
How deeply my love would always show.
You’d try to pay me for lending a hand,
But I did it for love—please understand.
Not for thanks or rewards, just pure and sincere,
Because I was happiest when you were near.
I’ll miss our fishing trips under the sky,
The warmth of your shoulder, the gleam in your eye.
A gentle kiss on your forehead, so sweet,
Your silver-gray hair, calm and complete.
I’ll miss helping you stand, holding you tight,
Your calm, wise voice, like a guiding light.
Tears fall as I write, but there’s peace in my soul,
For I heard your voice last, and it made me whole.
I told, “I love you,” in that final goodbye,
As you drifted to rest beneath heaven’s sky.
Rest now, dear Grandpa, your journey’s at end;
I’ll carry you with me until we meet again.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
— Darius Crutcher, Baby D
