

Robert Carl Hnizdil was born on July 13, 1928 in Turtle Creek Pennsylvania to James and Barbara Hnizdil. Robert passed into his eternal rest on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 94.
He lived thru the Great Depression and World War II. His first job was at the age of 16 for the Union Pacific railroad working night shift in the round house.
Robert was a proud veteran of the Korean War where he served with the United Sates Army from 1952 thru 1954. As a proud veteran, Robert would continue to honor his fellow veterans by being a longstanding member of the West Valley Chapter of the Korean War Veterans association of Arizona.
He worked for Westinghouse, National Cash Register, General Motors, Burroughs, General Electric, and Honeywell. Retiring in 1993 as a computer engineer. Robert was also a lifetime member of the Masonic Blue Lodge of Michigan.
In his later years, Robert shared a passion for photography, camping, hiking, and travel with Cathy, his loving companion of 35 years.
Robert was preceded in death by the mother of his 4 daughters, Florence and his first daughter, Carlene. He is survived by his companion Cathy and his 3 daughters; Gale, Nancy, and Cindy as well as 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A committal service for Robert will be held Thursday, April 27 at 12:30 PM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, Az.
