Bob worked for a floor covering wholesaler before joining Longust Distributing, where he served as a credit manager for more than 30 years. His dedication, integrity, and fun-loving personality endeared him to colleagues and clients alike. Bob’s retirement marked the end of an era, but his legacy lives on. His former colleagues commented that Bob had some interesting and unique ways of collecting money.
Bob and Sharon shared a passion for travel, spending time with family and friends, and hosting gatherings. Their home in Phoenix became a hub for reunions with fellow alumni from the 1959 graduating class of Loup City High School. Bob loved family reunions, polka dancing with his wife and granddaughters, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards, and cheering for his favorite sports teams. His stories of annual company fishing trips, where he and his buddies Tom Kalkowski, Lloyd Kendall, and his brother Richard cooked up memorable meals, became legendary.
