

Ronald Ira Kahn, age 82, of Phoenix, AZ passed away May 28, 2017. He was born April 29, 1935 in Chicago, IL to Esther (formerly Becker) and William Kahn. Shortly after graduating from high school, Ronald served his country in the U.S. Army. He had a naturally outgoing and gregarious personality and was ready to strike up a conversation with anyone. He relished being in the middle of large family and other gatherings. His disposition served him well in his professional life in sales, as a business owner and later a mail carrier. He was also a loyal person and remained a passionate fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Bears after he moved to Phoenix, where he retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He will always be remembered as a joyful and happy man.
His parents and his daughter, Karen (Tim) Roberts, precede Ronald in death. Ronald is survived by his former wife, Edna Jo Nichols and their children, Susan (Mike) Gertzman, Christine (Bob) Astraus, Craig (Julia) Kahn, Shayna Kahn and Leah (Russ) Lane; Grandchildren, Sean and Kyle Roberts, Chelsea Slawson, Nina and Tessa Gertzman, Gabby and Sadie Lane and Addison Kahn.
Ronald’s life will be celebrated, with military honors, Friday, June 2, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. The cemetery entrance is on Pinnacle Peak Road, east of Cave Creek Road. Arrangements by Shadow Mountain Mortuary.
