

Rose passed away peacefully on August 29, 2010, she was surrounded by her entire family. Rose was born on August, 30, 1935 in Yuma, Arizona. She was raised on her father’s farm in the North Gila Valley. Rose was the eldest of eight children born to Joaquin and Aurora Gill. Rose was a woman of passion, a stern disciplinarian and a wonderful cook. You could always find something good to eat at Nana’s house. She worked side by side with her late husband, Fred. Together they built up their business and their family. Her strength will live on in both. Rose loved her family, friends, Native American dolls, Native American jewelry and her Mexican music. She loved working in the yard, being a member of the Westside Sheriff’s Posse and talking to her bird, Harley. Rose was preceded in death by her husband Telesforo “Fred”. She is survived by her children, Linda Chavez, Freddie Chavez (Lisa), Jean Fajardo (Henry) and five grandchildren, Marco, Jessica Rose, Paloma, Andrea and Dallas. She is also survived by her sisters Velma “Deedee” Garcia (Robert), Martha “Peewee” Wheeler (Larry), Jane Orduno (Frank), her brother Jesus “Tommy” Gill and a sister-in-law Lucy Gill. Services for Rose will be Friday, September 3, 2010 at St. Mary’s Basilica, 231 N. 3rd St in Phoenix, Arizona. A viewing at 9:00 A.M. with a traditional Catholic Mass at 10:00 A.M. The Westside Sheriff’s Posse will serve as Pallbearers and Escort. Interment to follow at Greenwood Memory Lawn at 710 N. 27th Ave in Phoenix, Arizona.
