Roxana was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, second child to Mary and Stanley “Sleepy” Maskell. She was the middle child between her brothers Joseph and Ronald and later had a foster brother by the name of Albert Guti.
Roxana was a true pioneer in computer education. She worked as an instructor for MCCCD at the Institute for Computer Training for 33 years. Her career spanned from the early days of Maricopa Technical College working with IBM punch card machines up until everyone owned a personal computer and took classes at Gateway Community College through the mid 2000's. She played a historic role in the history of the Maricopa County Community College District and is fondly remembered by many of her students and coworkers.
Roxana loved butter pecan ice cream, reading, traveling, as well as collecting recipes and cookbooks. She loved to give her family and friends gifts and always had a new surprise waiting for everyone.
Roxana was proceeded in death by her mother Mary, father Stanley, and her brothers Albert, Joseph and Ronald. She is survived by her son Troy Maskell and his wife Monica, her grandnieces Andrea. Pupillo-Kemp, and Angela Pupillo, nieces Roxana Pupillo, Kelly Barthel, Terri Thompson, and her nephews Samy “Zo Zo” Maskell, Doug Maskell and Kirk Maskell.
Roxana’s passing is sadly the end of era here on earth, but her legacy of kindness and generosity shall live on...
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on 10:00 am, Monday, December 13, 2021 at Saints Simon & Jude Cathedral 6351 N 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85017.
