Ruth Burns

88, of Chandler, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 25, 2014 after a long and very difficult struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Her sons were with her constantly during her last days. She is survived by her brother, Bill McKee; four children; Denny (Deborah) Burns, David (Theresa) Burns, Chris Pandel, Cynthia (Steven) Dozier; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren, including Elizabeth Ruth Jarvis, her namesake, born in October of this year. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Carl; her son, Darryl, and her grandson Aaron. Ruth was born in Phoenix on March 19, 1926, the daughter of Clarence W. and Martha F. McKee. She graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1943. On May 16, 1947, she married Carlton Burns, an Air Force fighter pilot. Over the course of his career, they lived in Arizona, California, Germany, Massachusetts, Alabama, Virginia, and Hawaii. When Carl retired in 1969, they returned to Arizona. Ruth was active in the Payson Humane Society. A Visitation will begin at 9:30am, Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the Chapel of Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85009 with Funeral Services beginning at 10:00am. Interment will immediately follow. A Reception will be held in her honor beginning at 12:00Noon in the Hospitality
