Sally graduated from the University of Hull in 1976 with a degree in American Studies. After some time in London's advertising industry, Sally made her was to Los Angeles ,1982, where she launched her career in export promotion at the British Consultate General.
In 1995, Sally moved to Phoenix to join the Arizona Department of Commerce's International Department as an export specialist for the Grand Canyon State's optic and aerospace industries. Promoted to Director in short order, Sally organized several delegations to the Farnborough and Paris Air shows in addition to coordinating trade missions to Mexico and Europe for Governors Hull and Napolitano..
Eight years ago, Sally became an integral member of the Commercial Service team in Phoenix, where she quickly established a well earned reputation as a highly capable, clients-first trade professional who took great pride and pleasure in her work. She took particular satisfaction in contributing to the success of the Aerospace , Franchising, Safety/Security and Travel/Tourism teams. As the members of those Teams can attest, there was never a doubt on conference calls when Sally spoke, her unmistakable English accent still distinct after 30+ years in the United States.
Above all, Sally was a warm approachable person ready to help at a moment's notice and a genuine, loyal friend. As CS Australia's Doug Hartley so apty said upon hearing of her passing, "we hit it off straight away, but I guess most people would be able to say that about Sally". Indeed.
Sally leaves behind her beloved husband, Russ, and her two rescue dogs.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, Arizona.
