Sandra Kay Nelsen

Sandra Nelsen, born Sandra Guymon to Don and Shirley Guymon on April 29,1955, passed away on July 2, 2024. Sandra was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her devoted husband, Arlen, nine children, sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Sandra pursued her passion for caring for others by obtaining a nursing degree from Rick's College in Rexburg, Idaho. Her career was marked by her dedication to improving the lives of those around her. She worked in a pediatric care facility in Norfolk, providing compassionate care and support.

Her generosity and kindness extended beyond her professional life. Sandra was a professional quilter who regularly donated her time and materials to make quilts and rag blankets for children. Her creative talents and selflessness brought warmth and comfort to many.

Sandra's greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and her home was always filled with love and laughter. In addition to raising her own children, Sandra and Arlen opened their hearts and home to foster thirty children, providing a nurturing and loving environment for each one.

Sandra's legacy of love, compassion and generosity will be remembered by all who knew her. She touched countless lives with her kindness and left an indelible mark on her community. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her gentle spirit and unwavering love.
