

Sergei was born on November 26, 1927, in Chile, South America, the son of Emeterio and Catalina Block Arias. Friends and family knew him as Tuly.
He moved to the United States in 1947 and graduated from Walla Walla College in 1954 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion and a minor in History. He met Adelia, his soulmate of 67 years in Montana. Over the years, he lived in Washington, Oregon, Texas, California, and Arizona, where he called home for the last 53 years. He worked for the Metropolitan Water District in Los Angeles, California, and the Arizona Highway Department in Phoenix. He was a kind and loving man, whose family meant everything to him. He spoke multiple languages and was a musician, artist, and lover of classical music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife, Adelia and 2 children, Nora (Jeff) and Merlin (Abbe), 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- grandchild, with 2 more on the way.
A graveside service for Sergei will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027.
