Shirley Mae Victor

Shirley Mae Christy Victor was born October 1, 1931, to John Harold Christy and Orpha Jynell Tate in Champaign, Illinois. She had 2 sisters, Doris and Betty. At the age of 8, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she lived until her death on May 22, 2014 after battling cancer. She was 82 years old. She passed away in her home with her family by her side.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John Victor. Three children: son, Dennis Victor of Dallas, Tx; daughter Kathy Kartchner and husband Rick of Snowflake, Az; daughter Terry Pratt and husband Sterling of Mesa, Az. 17 Grandchildren and 21 Great-Grandchildren. And is also survived by 2 sisters, Doris Hicks, of Phoenix, Az and Betty Christy, of Modesto, Ca. She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 8710 North Third Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. Viewing from 9-9:45 a.m., service at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Resthaven Park Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary 710 W. Bethany Home Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85013. In lieu of flowers you can make a donation in Shirley’s name to General Missionary Fund for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
