

Dr. Stanley S. Conrad, 99, passed away on May 23, 2014, at his home in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on May 8, 1915, in Lowville, New York to Konstanty and Marianne Kwiatkowski. The family moved from New York to Elizabeth, New Jersey where Dr. Conrad attended elementary school and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Dr. Conrad attended and graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Upon graduation he attended and graduated from the Des Moines Still College of Osteopathy in Des Moines, Iowa in 1945. While attending medical school he met Marjorie Wallace. They were married in Menlo, Iowa in 1944. They were happily married for 62 years. In 1948 Dr. Conrad opened his medical practice in Roseville, Michigan. During that time he was on staff at Mt. Clemens General Hospital. He also served as a school board member for the Roseville school system. In 1972 Dr. Conrad moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he continued to work until 1990, finally retiring at age 75. He has enjoyed various interests throughout his life. He was an avid golfer, sports fan, and a true lifelong learner, collecting and sharing books and articles with his family and friends. Dr. Conrad was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, his parents, Konstanty and Marianne Kwiatkowski, three brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Countrymen of Phoenix, Arizona, his son, Brian Conrad, of Riverside California, his Grandsons, Michael O. Yee, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona, Ryan Countrymen (BethAnne) of Cave Creek, Arizona, Great grandchildren, Jessica and Cassandra Yee, and Asher and Chloe Countrymen, as well as extended family members, Vernon Armstrong, Christopher Countrymen and Georgia Neil. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends in Michigan and Arizona. A funeral service will be held at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary 200 W. Beardsley Rd. Phoenix, AZ at 11:00, Saturday, May 31, 2014 with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service.
