Susan Cathleen Mulvena

Susan Cathleen Mulvena, born November 24, 1954 in Sherman, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the age of 62. She spent her final hours surrounded by the love and care of her family. All her life Susan wanted to be a mother and a nurse. In 1972 she graduated from Rome Free Academy in Rome, New York before attending State University of New York at Canton, where she majored in Nursing. Susan worked for over 35 years in Pediatrics and Labor and Delivery. In 1986 she moved to Phoenix. An avid lover of the sun and heat, you could often find her poolside. Susan is preceded in death by her loving husband of 23 years, Daniel Thomas Mulvena. Susan is survived by her parents: John and Joan (Stephenson) Harmon; brothers: John Harmon, Daniel Harmon and David Harmon; 5 children: Lara (Cady) Linnen, Joseph Cady, Michelle Mulvena, Michael Mulvena, Denise (Mulvena) Clause; as well as 17 grandchildren. A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church (11001 N. 40th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85028) on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Aid to Woman Center (2039 S. Mill Ave, Tempe, AZ 85282). The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice Family Care and Kiran Manor for their care and support in her final days.
