My wife of 28 years, Susan Sugar-James left us in the early morning on Monday February 2, 2015. She spent the last few years of her amazing life dealing with multiple sclerosis.
Her early working years were spent in the jewelry business with her father. The last several years of her working life was with Maricopa County Juvenile and then Adult Probation until she retired in 2004. She enjoyed the diversity of her partners and assorted supervisors she worked with.
Before and after retiring we were able to explore special parts of the world. Her favorite recent times were spent working as a volunteer for H.A.L.O. Animal Rescue in their thrift store as a volunteer. Several of the folks there became her best book & coffee friends in the last few years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Barbara Sugar. She leaves behind her husband Rodger James and her 'fuzzy kid' Brutus as well her sister Karen Sugar, nieces Nina and Jordan and cousin Donna Craig.
Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services helped with the final details but formal services are not planned. Her remains will be sprinkled in a special spot to honor her wishes. Susan would have wanted those who wish to remember her to make a memorial donation to Halorescue.org , Bestfriends.org or Villalobos Rescue Center as they were all groups she supported.
We will always cherish the days spent with her smile.
