

Theodore V. Berrelleza Jr. (Teddy) peacefully passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 31, 1943, in Phoenix, Arizona, and grew up in the Golden Gate neighborhood. Teddy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Luisa Berrelleza, and his parents, Theodore T. Sr. and Antonia V. Berrelleza.
A proud member of the United States Army Reserves, Teddy was known for his strong work ethic throughout his more than 45 years as a dedicated steel union worker. He was a simple, hardworking man who found joy and peace in the outdoors, especially while camping. Above all, Teddy’s greatest love was his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Teddy is survived by his seven children: Andrew Burris (Rhonda), Angela Rios, Steve Ortiz (Laura), Jeannie Carreras (Vicente), David Berrelleza (Rosalinda), Robert Berrelleza (Adrienne), and Diane Lujan (Matthew).
He deeply enjoyed family gatherings filled with jokes, good music, dancing, and cherished memories. Teddy also loved watching the Arizona Cardinals, western movies, and most of all, he loved being a Tata. He leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Teddy is also survived by his siblings: Ida Alvarez, Daniel Berrelleza, Yolanda Flores, and Maria Theresa Carbajal.
Teddy will be deeply missed by all who know him. His kindness, sense of humor, and love for his family will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Now reunited with his beloved wife Maria Luisa in heaven, they will be together forever, dancing through the clouds, watching over their family with love.
A visitation will be held on January 2, 2026, from 8:00 am to 9:15 am at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, located at 719 North 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009.
The funeral mass will take place on January 2, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1954 N 24th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008.
The committal service with military honors will follow on January 2, 2026, at 11:30 am at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008.
