Vincent Consentino

Vincent Consentino passed away in his home on January 22, 2024 at the age of 93. Vincent was born in Mistretta, Sicily on December 29, 1930 to the late Giuseppe and the late Maria (Spinnato) Consentino. He was one of 5 children. He moved to the United States at 27 years old.

Vincent married Florence Lena Campala in Messina, Sicily on May 14, 1957. Vincent and Florence raised their family in Wappingers Falls, New York. Vincent was a hard worker, dedicated to creating a good life for his loved ones. He was employed on the maintenance staff at Wappingers Central School District, working his way up to Superintendent of Buildings & Grounds and retiring in 1985 after 26 years of service. He was also self employed as a cobbler in Wappingers Falls for over 20 years.

In 1985, Vincent and his wife moved to Arizona, where he enjoyed tending to his gardens and spending time with friends and family in Phoenix, Anthem, and Dewey. He enjoyed returning to Sicily often, and spent many of his summers there.

In his free time, Vincent was an enthusiastic gardener and found a lot of joy in caring for his plants and sharing fresh produce with his family, friends and neighbors. He was something of a film enthusiast, and was particularly fond of classic westerns. He was nostalgic but also had a wry sense of humor. He will be missed.

Vincent was preceded in death by his wife, Florence in 2021. He is survived by his children Joseph Consentino and wife Susan, Mary Peters and her husband Don, grandchildren Dana, Daniel and Jack Peters, brother Nino Consentino in Sicily, extended family and many people that cared about him.

A visitation for Vincent will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027, followed by a graveside service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
