

Virginia Ann (Dehof) Dunteman, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on January 31, 2026, which was the day of her 97th birthday. Virginia was born in Cincinnati, OH on January 31, 1929. After graduation from Newport High School in Kentucky class of 1947, Virginia was employed by Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati, where she met the “love of her life”, Paul Henry Dunteman. Paul and Virginia were married on July 29, 1950. Together they raised 5 boys in Cincinnati and Mt. Prospect, Il. In Mt. Prospect, Virginia enjoyed a 10 year career as a receptionist at Trade Service Publications before retiring in 1989 to Phoenix, AZ where 3 of their 5 boys were residing.
Virginia and Paul were married 59 years. After Paul’s death in 2009, Virginia was introduced to Silver Sneakers at the nearby community college. She made countless friends and improved her fitness all at the same time. For 12 years she had a passion for the classes and the friends she made there. After moving into a senior living facility in 2023, she was the one person that rarely missed their daily exercise classes.
Virgina was preceded in death by her brothers; Frank (Wanda) Dehof, Dick (Retha) Dehof; and sisters; Pat (Ritchie) Clark, Peggy (Bill) Turner.
Virginia is survived by her 5 boys: Paul Jr (Vicki), Mike (Carmen), Rick (Sandi), Dave (Nora) and Joe (Laura); 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephews.
Virginia enjoyed viewing the moon, and on the day of her passing, there was a full moon in a clear sky, lighting her way to heaven. As said by the Wizard of Oz, “A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others”. Virginia will be remembered by her family and many friends for her loving heart, smiling face, kindness, generosity and constant gratitude. Virginia, we all loved you very much and until we see you again, you will forever be in our hearts.
